English text
When through the deep recesses of my soul,
Soft, sad, sweet music’s tender accents roll;
Like buried waves beneath the throbbing sea,
My spirit answers to the Minor Key.
When pensive thought unlocks the golden store,
Where treasured lie the memories of yore,
With tearful joy the precious hoard I see,
And chant their glories to the Minor Key.
And when the glories of celestial day,
To heights sublime shall bear my song away,
Its deepest, tenderest, sweetest chord shall be
The trembling echoes of the Minor Key.
