The proper usage of this template is to place the following code at the top of a page requiring a rename:
- {{Rename|new title|reason}}
If the reason given contains an equal sign (=) inside it (as in a link), you'll be required to precede the reason with a |2=:
- {{Rename|new title|2=reason}}
