The piece linked here is the same as this one - I don't actually know which Gabrieli it is, but it's probably not both! Zenbobby 19:08, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

 Help

Thanks for bringing this up. I asked Helene Whitson of the Bay Area Choral Archive, and she checked on this. She said Grove lists one by Giovanni but not Andrea, and none of the other sources she checked list any 8-part Magnificat by Andreas. I think we can safely categorize it under Giovanni only.

Although [the pdf for] edition [1368] indicates that this is by Andrea, the oldest source for this work is the printed edition Sacrae Symphoniae Ioannis Gabrielii, published by Angelo Gardano, Venice, 1597 (see below). On what grounds Mr. Macchi attributed this work to Andrea Gabrieli is unfortunately not known. – User:Heeroma 14:54, 10 April 2022‎ (Moved here from the work page)

Score error in #650

In m. 46 of #650, the first two notes of the Bass 2 part should be Cs, a third higher than the printed As. #1368 has the right notes (c.f. m. 43). -Noah 13:59, 27 March 2011 (CDT)
