Split of Christ ist erstanden (Anonymous)

This [CPDL 64231] was not intended as the setting from BSB Mus.ms.Mk.1055 is an entirely different setting than the one on this page. Could someone of you clewer people create a new works page for this setting. Andreas

Hi Andreas,
I created this page and moved the older to Christ ist erstanden (Trent 88) (Anonymous). One thing I haven't yet figured out: your edition gives a date range of 1600-1680, while the publication page BSB Mus.ms.Mk.1055 gives the (less plausible, I think) 1400's. Hi! Thanks for fixing the misplacement! The dates are from the Bayerische Staatsbibliotek's title page for the PDF reproduction of the ms. It is also, evidently, the dating in the current catalogue of that library. I would, if pressed for my own estimate, date the contents of the ms to a few decades before to a few decades after 1600. This estimate though rests solely on stylistic considerations. I would gues that the BSB catalogues dating rests more on methodes of dating resting on evidence in regard of the ms. as a physical objekt. (hand writing and copists, paper dating and binding et.c.)

Andreas

Hello Andreas,
Please put four tildes (~~~~) at the end of posts on talk pages (like this one).
I made the list of works table on BSB Mus.ms.Mk.1055, but I am sure I got things wrong; feel free to correct it.
For purposes of listing, we need one approximate date for the manuscript, sounds like 1600 is in the middle. Do you think 1570–1630 is a good range for this? Thanks! — Barry Johnston (talk) 14:59, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
