Description: This is a musical setting of four separate verses, which can be found in two of the Narnia books: "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". The order in which they are sung is not the order in which they appear in the books, but nevertheless reflects a sort of Christian chronology implicit in Narnia - beginning with prophecy, moving through temptation and sin, and ending with the hope of spring and renewal. This was written for the local community, and is intended as community music, to involve children (both as singers and as players).

When Adam's flesh and Adam's bone
sit upon Cair Paravel in throne,
the evil time will be over and done.
Make your choice, adventurous stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger.
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
what would have followed if you had.
Come in by my gold gates or not at all,
Take of my fruit for others or for bear,
For those who steal or those who climb
My wall Shall find their heart’s desire
and find despair.
Wrong will be right
when Aslan comes in sight
at the sound of his roar
sorrows will be no more.
When he bares his teeth,
winter meets its death
And when he shakes his mane
We shall have spring again.
