Sancte Johannes Baptista, electe Dei,
tu es Angelus qui venisti ante faciem Domini parare vias ejus,

qui tollit peccata mundi.

Blessed John the Baptist, the chosen one of God,
you are the herald who came before the sight of the Lord to prepare his way,
you showed us the Lamb of God, our Lord and Saviour,
who takes away the sins of the world.
