Osculetur me osculo oris sui,
quia nigra sum sed formosa.
Nolite me considerare quod fusca sim,
quia decoloravit me sol, et ideo dixit mihi rex:
Ecce tu pulchra es amica mea,
et tu flos campi et lilium convalium.
Alleluia.

English translation

Let him kiss me with the kiss of his mouth,
for I am black but comely.
Do not consider that I am brown,
because the sun hath altered my colour. And I said to the king:
Behold, thou art beautiful my love,
and thou art a flower of the field, and a lily of the valley.
Alleluia.
