Description:  The composition represents a short funeral march. The main words sung by the choir have been taken form a stanza of "Dies irae", traditionally part of the requiem mass. The stanza begin with "Oro supplex en acclinis". The choir also sings the beginning of the "Libera me, Domine, de morte aeterna" part. An important part has been assigned to a clarinet in Bb. It plays the melody, either copying the sopranos or as lead supported by the brass quartet. Another important part is played by the timpani, which emphasize the character of a procession.
