English text
Lovely Spring is come again,
Bearing nature’s treasure;
Streams escape from icy chain,
And the air breathes pleasure.
Youths and maidens life’s springtide
Hasten forth in greeting;
Deck the May Queen’s throne of pride,
Emblem of the meeting.
Bathe in Maydew each bright eye,
Each fair cheek to glowing;
Fill the cup of beauty high,
Fill to overflowing.
Nature calls, oh, hear the birds,
Winged spirit voices,
Songs divine that need not words,
’Tis the heart rejoices.
Many tinted buds awake,
Spring’s bright zone to jewel,
Sweetly breathing as they break
Winter’s prison cruel.
Streams are flowing through the vale,
Flowery banks caressing,
Let us all Spring’s promise hail,
Bless her for her blessing.
