Description: This is most likely a folk hymn. It was published in 1854 as INVITATION NEW in Walker's Southern Harmony with lyrics by Joseph Hart. In various editions of The Sacred Harp, the tune was re-arranged with the title RETURN AGAIN, set to a text by John Newton. In Hauser's The Olive Leaf, this tune was first set to the hymn, "Hark! I Hear the Harps Eternal." This arrangement inspired Alice Parker's choral anthem on this hymn. Her arrangement included a metrical change from duple to triple. It also uses the key of F major, as The Sacred Harp, rather than G.
