German text 1. In Gottes Namen fahren wir, sein' Hilf' und Gnad' begehren wir. Bewahr uns heut' des Vaters Güt' und unser Seel' und Leib behüt! Kyrieleis! 2. Christus sei unser Geleitsmann, bleib stetig bei uns auf der Bahn und wend von uns des Feindes List, auch was sei'm Wort zuwider ist! Kyrieleis! 3. Der heilig' Geist auch ob uns halt mit seinen Gaben mannigfalt', tröst, stärke uns in aller Not und führ uns wieder heim mit Gott! Kyrieleis! (13th cent.)

English translation 1. We go forth in the name of God and seek the help and grace of God. And may the Father's goodness still protect us, body, soul, and will. Kyrieleis! 2. May Christ our guide and escort be, stay by our side along the way, and turn away the cunning foe and all that would God's Word oppose. Kyrieleis! 3. And may the Spirit uphold us with all His gifts to safeguard us, strength, comfort in adversity, and bring us home where God shall be! Kyrieleis!
