Description: No. 1 in Simon Verovio's Canzonette à quatro voci... 1591. The printed source contains parts for the voices, intavolation for Gravicembalo and intavolation for Lute (in Italian tablature). The voices are notated in chiavetti ( g, g, c2 and c3). A downward transposition is therefore the most likely especially as the intavolations are notated a fifth lover. Thus the voicing SSAT or SSSA will become a SATB voicing.

  Vengon tra'l herbe' e fiori
  Zefiro vago amoreggiando e Clori
  Ninfe e pastori al suon di corna muse,
  Descan cantando le silvestri Muse.

In ascoltando intenti
  Stagnar vedi il ruscel tacere i venti
  Sdegna i paschi la greggia
  E l'ariett' al suon corza e garreggia
  Scivani gl'augelletti l'esca e l'onda
