Description: The collect for the 21st Sunday after Trinity, from Garth's "Thirty collects". His settings of the collects were not intended for liturgical use (the collect of the day was invariably read) but they were intended for "those who wish to have something in the vocal way easy and proper for their Sunday evenings' recreation".
Original text and translations
Grant, we beseech thee, merciful Lord, to thy faithful people pardon and peace,
that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
