James Allen, 1761
Glory to God on high,
Let praises till the sky!
Praise ye His name.
Angels His name adore,
Who all our sorrows bore,
And saints cry evermore,
‘Worthy the Lamb!'

All they around the throne
Cheerfully join in one,
Praising His name.
We who have felt His blood,
Sealing our peace with God,
Spread His dear name abroad—
’Worthy the Lamb!'

To Him our hearts we raise—
None else shall have our praise;
Praise ye His name.
Him our exalted Lord,
By us below adored,
We praise with one accord—
‘Worthy the Lamb!'

If we should hold our peace,
Stones would cry out apace;
Praise ye His name!
Love does our souls inspire
With heavenly, pure desire,
And sets us all on fire—
‘Worthy the Lamb!'

Join all the human race,
Our Lord and God to bless;
Praise ye His name!
In Him we will rejoice,
Making a cheerful noise,
And say with heart and voice,
‘Worthy the Lamb! '

Though we must change our place,
Our souls shall never cease
Praising His name;
To Him we'll tribute bring,
Laud Him, our gracious King,
And without ceasing sing,
‘Worthy the Lamb.’

Toplady, 1776
Glory to God on High!
Let heav'n and earth reply.
Praise ye his name.
Angels his love adore,
Who all our sorrows bore,
and saints cry evermore:
Worthy the LAMB!

All they around the throne
Cheerfully join in one,
Praising his name:
We who have felt his blood
Sealing our peace with God,
Sound his dear fame abroad:
Worthy the LAMB!

Join all the ransom'd race
Our Lord and God to bless:
Praise ye his name!
In him we will rejoice,
Making a cheerful noise;
And shout with heart and voice,
Worthy the LAMB!

Tho' we must change our place,
Yet shall we never cease
Praising his name:
To Him we'll tribute bring;
Hail Him our gracious king;
And without ceasing sing,
Worthy the LAMB!

Rippon's Selection, 1787
1. Glory to God on high!
Let earth and skies reply;
Praise ye his name;
His love and grace adore,
Who all our sorrows bore;
Sing aloud evermore,
Worthy the lamb.

2.Jesus, our Lord and God,
Bore sin's tremendous load,
Praise ye his name:
Tell what his arm hath done,
What spoils from death he won;
Sing his great name alone,
Worthy the lamb.

3. While they around the throne
Cheerfully join in one,
Praising his name;
Those who have felt his blood
Sealing their peace with God,
Sound his dear fame abroad,
Worthy the lamb.

4. Join, all ye ransomed race
Our holy Lord to bless;
Praise ye his name:
In him we will rejoice,
And make a joyful noise,
Shouting with heart and voice,
Worthy the lamb.

5. What though we change our place,
Yet we shall never cease
Praising his name:
To him our songs we bring,
Hail him our gracious king,
And without ceasing sing,
Worthy the lamb.

6. Then let the hosts above,
In realms of endless love,
Praise his dear name:
To him ascribed be
Honor and majesty,
Through all eternity;
Worthy the lamb.
