For a change, a setting of the Ave Maria in a modern language - in Italian. It will be evident, even to a dyed-in-the-wool traditionalist, that the language is really not so far removed from the Latin. Somewhat pungent harmonies in places, but these should present no difficulty to an experienced choir; whilst even a less experience one should be able, with a little work and patience, to take on the piece successfully.
