Latin text
Fac tibi mortales pareant davidica radix,
Cum vincas alios Virginitate mera.
Tu Patris es geniti tu Mater flaminis alma,
Defende ali nostrum virgo benigna genus.
O clemens genti faveas per sæcula nostre,
Ut nomen valeat tollere ad astra tuum.
Make all mortals obey thee, o scion of David,
Since thou hast power over them by pure maidenhood.
Thou art nourishing Mother, born of the Father and the Spirit,
Defend from evil, favoured maid, our people.
O most merciful, cherish us throughout the ages,
That we may lift thy name unto the stars.
