Deh, come invan sospiro,
deh, come invan vi miro,
poiché, crudel, voi fate ogni un gioire
et a me sól morire!
Infelice mia sorte,
che la vita per me divenga morte.

German translation

Ach, wie vergebens seufze ich,
ach, wie vergebens schaue ich Euch an,
weshalb, Grausame, schenkt Ihr allen eine Freude
und mir allein zu sterben!
Unglücklich ist mein Schicksal,
das das Leben für mich zum Tod werden lässt.
