Edition notes: a semi-diplomatic edition: Scores for the voices (both untransposed and transposed down a fifth), the intavolation for gravicembalo and the intavolation for lute (both in the Italian tablature and in French tablature). The underlay of the second verse is editorial as the source prints this verse separately after all the music staves.

Description: The source, Simone Verovios Canzonette à Quatro voci... 1591, prints the voice parts, an intavolation for Gravicembalo and an intavolation for lute (in italian tablature). The Voices are notated in chiavetti (g, g, c2 and c3) and though a performance with female voices is possible the parts should probably be transposed down by singing in a lower key. The Gravicembalo intavolation is acctualy a fifth lower than the voice parts. The Lute intavolation would also be a fifth lower when played on the common lute in g.
