Benedicam Dominum

General information

Benedicam Dominum, the opening verse of Psalm 33 (Septuagint numbering), is used for both the Responsorium breve for Tuesday Vespers (Ant. Mon. 1934 p 136) and (with the following verse "In Domino laudabitur") as the Gradual for Pentecost XII.

There is also an Offertory, Benedicam Dominum qui mihi tribuit for the Tuesday after Lent II (GR p. 116)

Text and translations

Latin text 33:2  Benedicam Dominum in omni tempore; semper laus ejus in ore meo. 33:3  In Domino laudabitur anima mea: audiant mansueti, et laetentur.

English translation 34:1  I will alway give thanks unto the Lord: his praise shall ever be in my mouth. 34:2  My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
