Away, away, my gallant bark,
The waves are white and high,
And fast the lone becalmed clouds
Are smiling on the sky.

How merry the breeze that wafts them on,
And chafes the billows’ spray,
The winds may blow across the sea,
My gallant bark, away!

Thy snowy wings and thy noble form
Will battle with the angry storm,
The winds may blow and the tempest roar,
Our bark will reach the sunny shore.

Then hie away gallant bark,
Across the silver tide
Sweet sounds of music we’ll awake
As merrily on we glide.
