Unless I'm very much mistaken, the motet ought to be entitled TaMquam agnus. [[User:Jkelecom|Jkelecom]] ([[User talk:Jkelecom|talk]]) 12:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

I agree. I scratched my head over this when I posted it, because the "m" is the more common spelling. The Oxford Latin Dictionary, though, gives "tan-" as a variant. I guess if there were a Victoria equivalent of the BWV, we could go with that, but I'll agree to whatever the editors here decide. Thanks! ==Publications==
Lasso was one of the most prolific composers of the 16th century, and as such published an unusually large number of works, in a large number of languages and genres. Many went through several subsequent editions -- most notably, his first book of 4-voice madrigals went through 14 distinct editions from 1560 to 1592. The table below lists his major publications, along with year of first printing, genre of works contained, number of voices, and other notes.
'''Aliases:''' René del Mel, del Melle

Not to be confused with Giovanni Battista Mele (Juan Bauptista Melle), 1701 (or earlier)-active until 1752 in Madrid.
==Life==
'''Born:''' c1554

'''Died:''' c1598

'''Biography'''

Born in Mechelin, Melle is presumed to have been 8 years old when he joined the choir of St. Rombaut in 1562. He later claimed to have been named after the infant duchess Renée of Lorraine, adopting a more italianate name when he moved to Rome in 1580. He disappears from the record in 1596, though a few madrigals were published under his name in Antwerp in 1597.
