1 Was haben doch die Leut' im Sinn, was wollen sie anrichten,
daß sie aufsteh'n mit Ungestüm? Vergebens ist ihr Dichten.
Die König im Land sich lehnen auf, die Herren schließen Rat zu Häuf,
der Streit der will sich heben.
2 Gott und Christo, sein'm lieben Sohn, mit Trutz sie widerstreben,
er soll sie ungemeistert lan, sie woll'n ihr's Sinnes leben,
sein Wort ¡st ihn'n ein schwere Last, drum haben sie kein Ruh' noch Rast,
sie woll'n dies Joch abwerfen.
3 Im Himmel wohnt der starke Gott, der lacht der kühnen Helden,
der große Narrheit erzwar spott', doch werden sie's entgelten,
wann er im Zorn wird heben an und fragen, was sie denn getan,
mit Grimm wird er sie schrecken.
4 Sein Zorn ist unerträglich schwer, wenn er mit Grimm entbrennet,
d'rum hütet euch, folgt guter Lehr' , denkt, wie ihr ihn abwendet.
Selig zu preisen ist der Mann, der sich um Gottesfurcht nimmt an,
auf Christum setzt sein Trauen.
