Surge Petre et indue te vestimentis tuis
accipe fortitudinem, ad Salvandas gentes
quia ceciderunt catenae de manibus tuis.
Angelus Domini adstitit,
et lumen refulsit in habitaculo carceris,
percussoque latere Petri, excitavit eum,
dicens: Surge velociter,
quia ceciderunt catenae de manibus tuis.

Arise, Peter, cast thy garment about thee,
gird thyself for the salvation of men,
for the chains are fallen off from thy hands.
An angel of the Lord stood by him:
and a light shined in the prison room:
and he striking Peter on the side, raised him up,
saying: Arise quickly,
for the chains are fallen off from thy hands.
(c.f. Acts 12:7,8)
