Latin text
O quantus luctus hominum,
quanta praecipue lamenta monachorum,
et virginum chorus:
quia pium est gaudere Martino,
et pium est flere Martinum.
English translation
Oh, what great mourning of men,
and great were the lamentations of monks,
and of the choir of virgins,
because it is a good thing to rejoice in Martin,
and it is a good thing to weep.
