Description: Published in 1774 with the title Mechias, but the song is named for the town in Maine where Lyon preached for many years, Machias. Words by Isaac Watts, 1719, paraphrase of Psalm 61, with four stanzas. Lyon used the first two S. M. stanzas in his composition, so his stanzas are S. M. D.
