Biography
Flemish composer. He received his musical training in the choir school of the cathedral of St Lambert, Liège, which he entered as a duodenus in 1550. Like his elder contemporaries Guyot, Gombert and Clemens non Papa, Chaynée sought to achieve a close relationship between music and text. His technique is impeccable, and the setting of the text is careful.
