The horizontal alphabetical line which appears in some categories and on some long pages is a '''Table of Contents'''. It allows a person to browse a category beginning at a certain letter. One needs only click on one of the letters, and one can either jump several pages, or scroll down a long page to that entries that begin with that letter. This is very useful when browsing categories with a large number of items (such as the category page '[[:Category:Choral music|Music scores]]' or the composer page '[[Anonymous]]').
