Altra luce, altro Sol; non have altr’alma,

liebender Gedanken solch schwere Last.

O why, my death, don’t you pay to verity
credence, to my innocent and sincere faith:
as none of the acts was bad or faulty,
nor stained by malicious thought?
I love you, and God knows that I don’t crave anything else
than the light of your eyes; therefore the worn down
life succour, which on its way already gives way
under the wight of a bitter and cruel distress.

From you arises my luck, from you my sorrow,
for no other I wished to feel
the burden of such loving thoughts.
These tearful and wretched eyes have
no other light, no other Sun; nor has another soul
than you this humane and fragile body of mine.
