Antonio Grimaldi
Born: 1897
Died: c.1949
Biography
The Rev. Dr. Antonio Grimaldi was a priest and composer who trained in the Sistine Chapel choir as a bass, and was a Doctor of Music. He later moved in the 1930's to St. Mary and St. John's church, Wolverhampton, England, (of all places!) to be the director of music there. He was a much loved figure there and a very successful choir trainer. Alas, his career was cut short by the outbreak of World War II, and he was interned as an enemy alien. After the war he returned to Italy and died shortly afterwards.
