(modernized)

English.png English translation

So one of the hotel guests, well fit
and amply endowed in body and yardstick,
sloughs his doublet after dinner,
then his hose, and dons his nightshirt.
The hostess turns up, and the lodger grabs her
and shakes her down so enthusiastically
that she says to him, most generously,
"There's nothing to pay, so long as you keep schtum".
Great! Many thanks, my yardstick", says he,
"It's you as has settled my tab".
