Editor: Mick Swithinbank (submitted 2021-10-25).   Score information: A4, 10 pages, 110 kB   Copyright: CPDL
Edition notes: Transposed up a minor third. To transpose it up any further might present problems for the Bass voices, one of which already briefly reaches top E flat, although the Bass tessitura in this transposed score is still only B flat to b flat.

General Information

Title: Tu Domine universorum
Composer: Noel Bauldeweyn
Lyricist:
Number of voices: 6vv   Voicing: ATTTBB
Genre: SacredMotet

Language: Latin
Instruments: A cappella

First published: 1545 in Cantiones septem, sex et quinque vocum (Sigmund Salminger), no. 2
Description: Source: Cantiones 7, 6 et 5 vocum, Melchior Kriesstein, Augsburg 1545. Two of the tenor parts are in canon. An enjoyably sombre work. The alternation of E flats and naturals (at the original pitch), or G flats and naturals (at this transposition) is an important feature, although many depend on editorial/directorial decisions.
