Trans mare secessit Galilaeas Christus in oras:
Et deserta petens populi comitante caterva,
Restituit quorum aegrotos virtute superna.
Transit in excelsum deserta per invia montem
Cum sociis orans: tenera hic requievit in herba.

Christ traversed the sea, the land of Galilee his mark;
He passed into the desert, a crowd attending him;
With powers sent from heaven he healed those who were sick.
Through the pathless wastes he came to a lofty mountain,
Praying with his companions. There in soft grass he took his rest.

Über das Meer hinweg ging Christus ins Land Galilaea,
Suchte die Wüste auf, begleitet von zahlreichem Volke,
Heilte mit himmlischer Kraft, wer krank war unter demselben.
