Life

Born: ca. 1500

Died: August 1558

Biography

English Renaissance composer. Since the scribe who copied his 'Nesciens mater' did not give a Christian name, the identity of the composer is uncertain, but he was probably the Thomas Wright who was appointed a vicar choral of St Paul's, London, in April 1538. At some point between 11 June 1545 and 25 January 1546 Wright joined the Chapel Royal. He kept both positions until his death.
