English text
The angels breathe on flowers,
When soft winds gently play;
Their breathing come with twilight,
Not in the glare of day;
The Zephyrs, as they gambol,
O’er upland, moor, or vale,
Scatter the Angels’ breathings,
Each floweret to inhale.
The Angels breathe on flowers;
The flowers their joy express,
In bursting into beauty,
In looks of thankfulness.
How fondly should we prize them!
Their fragrant sweets are given
To win us to the Angels.
