I sing of a story of long ago.
A story that tells of the First Nowell.
For I was there when Mary gave birth.
For the Infant Child I lit heaven and earth.

God chose Mary and to her great joy.
She brought forth His Son a baby boy.
I smiled down from the black of the sky.
The Earth was still, as I shone on high.

Wise men too from dis tant lands.
By my bright light they could un derstand,
To seek for the Child they knew had been born,
And to follow me on wards from dusk until dawn.

So let us be joyful come let us all sing.
Come let us remember the birth of Our King,
The light in the heavens, the light of a star
that guided those people from near and from far.
