1. I am thinking of the danger
Of the life I used to live,
When my spirit was a stranger
To the peace Christ came to give:
How I tried to make excuses
For my sinful life and ways,
And the many sad abuses –
Wasting life and useful days.

Chorus
I am saved and satisfied,
I am saved and satisfied,
Since I gave my life to Jesus
In His presence to abide,
I am saved and satisfied.

2. Long I fought against the evil
Which I found did lurk within;
This possession of the devil
Kept me always prone to sin;
When I read the words of Jesus
And the teachings of St. Paul,
There I found a promised freedom
From the guilt of Adam’s fall.

3. Promises of full salvation
From all sin and sinning too,
Making me a new creation
Saved completely through and through:
That the grace of God would cleanse me
From the state of inbred sin,
And each moment guide and keep me
Safe without and pure within.

4. Then I sought and found this blessing
Through the blood of Christ my Lord,
I am free from condemnation,
Living daily in His word;
Happy in the promise given,
I am shouting on the way
To my Father’s house in heaven
And the land of endless day.

5. Now I walk upon the highway
Where the saints of old have trod,
I am walking with my Savior
In the way that leads to God;
Earthly joys I do not covet,
Nor its pleasures do I crave;
In the world but am not of it,
Hallelujah, I am saved.
