- Pere eternel, qui nous ordonnes
- n’avoir soucy du lendemain,
- des biens que pour ce jour nous donnes
- te mercions de cueur humain.
- Or puis qu’il t’a pleu de ta main
- donner au corps manger & boire,
- plaise toy du celeste pain
- paistre nos âmes à ta gloire
English translation
Prayer of Thanksgiving
- Eternal Father, who orders us
- not to worry about tomorrow,
- for the goods you gave us today
- we thank you, with all our heart.
- Now, since it has pleased you
- to give our bodies food and drink,
- may it please you, with bread from heaven,
- to feed our souls to your glory.
