Italian text Occhi, perché piangete, Ben che fra noi commun sempre è l’affanno? Pensate che da voi sol nasce il danno? Al aspro mio martir non ci consente Ne pianeta ne sorte, Ma sol voi, occhi desiosi e vaghi, Che pensando gioire Gite dov’il desire Cieco vi fa parer dolce la morte.

German translation Augen, warum weint ihr, obwohl der Kummer uns immer gemeinsam ist? Denkt ihr, dass nur aus euch der Schaden entsteht? Meinem grausamen Leiden pflichten weder Planet noch Schicksal bei, sondern nur ihr, sehnsüchtige und schöne Augen, die ihr, zu genießen wähnend, dort ruht wo das blinde Sehnen euch den Tod süß erscheinen lässt.
