This hauntingly simple setting of O bone Jesu has often been attributed to Palestrina but is now generally recognized to have been the work of Marco Antonio Ingegneri. Consequently, CPDL editions listing the work as being by Palestrina have been moved to O bone Jesu (Marco Antonio Ingegneri).
