Latin text O Domine Iesu Christe, adoro te in crucem pendentem, et coronam spineam in capite portantem: te deprecor ut tua crux liberet me ab angelo percutiente. O Domine Jesu Christe, adoro te in cruce vulneratum, felle et aceto potatum: te deprecor ut tua vulnera sint remedium animae meae. O Domine Jesu Christe, adoro te propter illam amaritudinem quam pro me miserrimo peccatore sustinuisti in cruce maxime quando nobilissima anima tua egressa est de corpore tuo: miserere animae meae in egressu suo. Secunda pars O Domine Jesu Christe, adoro te in sepulchro positum myrrha et aromatibus conditum: deprecor te ut tua mors sit vita mea. O Domine Iesu Christe, adoro te descendentem ad inferos: deprecor te ne permittas me illuc introire. Iesu Christe, adoro te resurgentem a mortuis et ad coelos ascendentem sedentemque ad dexteram Dei Patris: deprecor te miserere mei. O Domine Iesu Christe, pastor bone, iustos conserva, peccatores iustifica et omnibus fidelibus defunctis, et propitius esto mihi miserrimo peccatore.

English translation O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you as you hang, as you are, on the cross, and bear a crown of thorns upon your head. I beg you that your cross may free me from the smiting angel. O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you wounded, as you are, on the cross, given gall and vinegar to drink. I beg you that your wounds may be the remedy for my soul. O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you, because of that bitterness which you endured on the cross for me, a most wretched sinner, especially when your most noble soul left your body: have mercy upon my soul when it leaves my body. (Part 2) O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you placed, as you are, in the tomb with myrrh and buried with sweet spices: I beg you that your death may be my life. O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you as you descend to hell and free the captives: I beg you not to let me enter into that place. O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you as you rise from the dead and ascend to heaven, and as you sit on the right hand of the God the Father: I beg you to have mercy on me. O Lord Jesus Christ, good shepherd, preserve the just, pardon sinners and have mercy on all the faithful departed. May you also be gracious to me, a most miserable sinner.
