Nell' odorat' e lucid' oriente
là sotto'l vagh' e temperato cielo
de la felice Arabia che non sente
si che l'offenda mai caldo ne gelo

viv' una riposat' e lieta gente
tutta di ben amar acces' in zelo
come vol sua ventura e come piacque
a la cortese dea che nel mar nacque.
