English text
Merrily my love and I
Upon the plains were sporting;
Cheerfully the nymphs and fauns
Oft-times to us resorting.
Sorrow did not assail us;
We tasted of each pleasure.
Happy those that may, like us,
Have part of love’s rich treasure.
