Description: Model for the parody mass included in Josquin's Third Book (1514). Though a cappella, it is very likely that instruments doubled at least some voices; it is thus appropriate to perform with instruments if desired.

Latin text Mater patris et filia, mulierum laetitia stella maris eximia, audi nostra suspiria. Regina poli curiae, mater misericordiae, in hac valle miseriae Maria, propter filium confer nobis remedium. bone Jesu, Fili Dei, nostras preces exaudi; et precibus nostris dona nobis remedium. Amen.

English translation Mother of the Father, and daughter, joy of women, best star of the sea, hear our sighs. Queen of heaven's court, mother of mercy, in this vale of woe, Mary, through your Son, heal us. Dear Jesus, Son of God, hear our prayers, and through our prayers heal us. Amen.
