German text Marias Wallfahrt 1. Maria ging aus wandern, so fern ins fremde Land, bis sie Gott, den Herren, fand. 2. Sie hat ihn schon gefunden wohl vor des Herodes Haus, er sah so betrüblich aus. 3. Da Kreuz, das mußt’ er tragen nach Jerusalem vor die Stadt, wo er gemartert ward. 4. Was trug er auf seinem Haupte? Ein’ scharfe Dornenkron’; das Kreuz, das trägt er schon. 5. Daran soll man bedenken, ein jeder jung o’r alt, daß das Himmelreich leidet Gewalt!		French translation Le pèlerinage de Marie 1. Marie chemina, si loin dans ce pays étranger, jusqu’à ce qu’elle trouvât le Seigneur. 2. Elle le trouva bien, le maître de la maison, il avait l’air si affligeant. 3. La croix, il devait la porter, jusqu’à Jérusalem, la ville où il fut supplicié. 4. Que portait-il sur sa tête? En plus de la croix, une couronne d’épines acérées. 5. Chacun d’entre nous doit y réfléchir, jeune ou vieux, le Royaume des Cieux nous confronte à la violence.
