Description: No. 11 of a set of Magnificats in all tones, two for each tone printed by Petrus Palesius 1563: "Canticum Beatae Mariae ... Per octo Musice modos variatum...". This is the first of the two sixth-tone settings. Only the odd verses are set. The original print does not contain the chant for the even verses. Most of the polyphonic sections are for four parts: The fifth verse, Et misericordia is set as a SAT trio and the nineth verse, Suscepit Israel is a SA duo.
