Biography
John Winans Shryock was born in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, the son of music teacher Daniel Shryock. He became an organist, tenor soloist, and music teacher in Kirksville, Missouri, and in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died in Minneapolis. He published pedagogical books, with his father published “The Clarino: for schools, seminaries and choral societies,” and wrote a number of part songs.
