John Alcock Jr.

Biography
John Alcock Jr. was the eldest son of John Alcock Sr., and was born in Plymouth. He was a chorister at Lichfield Cathedral
, where his father was organist. He deputized for his father at Lichfield before becoming organist at Newark
. In 1773 he was appointed organist of St. Matthew's, Walsall
.
His Parochial Harmony, or a Collection of Divine-Music in Score was published in 1777 by Francis Roome of Derby. The book was published by subscription: the subscribers include John Darwall, who was vicar of St. Matthew's, Walsall at that time.
He died at Walsall and was buried there on 30 March 1791.
