Description: From the Tudway collection. "An anthem of thanksgiving to God for haveing put an end to the Great Rebellion in 1641 by the restauration of the Royall Family compos'd by Dr Child".
The setting would have remained useful after this nonce usage, Psalm 124 being the psalm proper for 5th November (Guy Fawkes' Day) specified by the Book of Common Prayer, 1662-1859.
