I soventi martiri accompagnati da greve dolore
mostrans in me di fore
quel ch'oprin dentro gli ardenti sospiri.

Solingo, pien di spene e di desiri
vivo per riveder quel dolce aspetto
a cui diede natura vita lieta e secura.

Per trarmi l'alma de l'afflitto petto hai,
stella iniqua, hai fatto acerbo e rio
che mi furi ogni ben anz' il cor mio.
