French text He hermite, sait hermite oseroie faire ung amy oy ma foy ma jeune fille mais qui fust coint et ioly et quil fust riche et quil eust ung gris manteau de bureau comme ung hermite.

French text (modernized) "Hé ermite saint, oserai faire un ami." "Oui, ma foi, ma jeune fille; mais qui fut coint et joli, et qu'il fut riche; et qu'il eut un gris manteau de bureau, comme un ermite."

English translation "Hey, holy hermit, I would choose a b.f." "O.K. young lady, i'faith; But he must be dapper and fit, as well as loaded; and he should sport a grey cope, just like a hermit." (trans. Timmi O'Danaos & Donna Ferrentes)
